Knight Engineering is a Civil Engineering consulting firm which is located in central Bucks County just north of Buckingham at the intersection of Route 413 and Mechanicsville Road in Buckingham Township. Since its inception in 1987, KEI has specialized in serving municipal clients. The firm was founded by Mr. Ernest Knight II, PE, PLS who brings with him over 30 years of experience serving Municipalities.
Our company represents Buckingham Township in the capacity of Township Engineer. KEI’S success in serving municipal clients is evidenced by its longstanding relationship with Buckingham Township. The firm has provided Township Engineering services for Buckingham since 1978. We have also served Plumstead Township, Warwick Township, and Tinicum as their Township Engineer. The firm has also provided various engineering services to other municipalities in Bucks County, including Doylestown Township, Warrington Township, and Bridgeton Township.
The achievement of Knight Engineering's municipal service lies in its ability to closely monitor development from the early planning stages through construction and final dedication. Our engineers provide comprehensive plan reviews with respect to Zoning and Subdivision requirements, water and sewer facilities design and advise the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors of all outstanding issues. After project approval, our experienced field personnel closely monitor all construction activities to insure compliance with the approved plans. The construction specifications enforced by our field inspectors are among the most stringent in Bucks County. Even though Buckingham is one of the fastest growing Townships in the county, through methodical planning and monitoring of development, we have been able to provide first rate service to insure minimal disruption to Township residents.
Knight Engineering DOES NOT provide consulting services to MAJOR REAL ESTATE DEVELOPERS. Our philosophy has been that in order to best serve the interest of our municipal clients, we prefer not to represent developers. This will ensure that there is no conflict of interest and that the interest of the municipality is always our first and only priority. Currently, 90% of our workload is for Municipal Clients. The remaining 10% is made up of small minor subdivisions for private individuals in Townships where we are not employed as Township Engineers and other special projects such as the James A. Michener Art Museum expansions, the Central Bucks School District – Groveland Elementary School, etc.
