Our Projects

Groveland Elementary School

In a rare occurrence of Municipal and School District cooperation, Knight Engineering, as the Township Engineer, was entrusted by the School District and Plumstead Township to develop the Site Improvement Plans for the Groveland Elementary School, accelerating the approval process and reducing the total engineering costs for the project. Knight Engineering, working the School District, the Architect and Site Contractor, guided the project from the initial design to the opening of the school on time and within budget.

George M. Bush Park – Buckingham Township

As part of the Township’s Master Park Layout, Knight Engineering was selected to complete the site design for the Township’s predominant Community Park and Recreation Facility. Through the use of cutting edge materials and green construction practices, Knight Engineering created a state of the art recreation facility that is protected by eco-friendly improvements. Porous paving parking areas, bio-retention basins, densely vegetated wetland habits and wildlife refuge meadow areas were designed and installed to mitigate the visual and environmental impacts created by the new baseball fields, soccer fields, ice-skating area, and children play areas.

Buckingham Township Municipal Building Wetland Project

Showcased as one of Bucks County’s Top Innovative Stormwater Management - Best Management Practice Sites, this wetland demonstration site was brokered by and completed under the supervision of Knight Engineering. Providing educational opportunities and evidence that developers and municipalities can work together, this project included converting an inefficient grass basin into a groundwater recharge/extended detention basin, the creation of a one acre Wetland Mitigation Facility, the installation of walking trails, and the installation of several educational kiosks, including a wetland observation pavilion.

Cold Spring Creamery Road

As a result of several curative amendments, this once rural road was slated to be the main access road to over 2,100 homes. From the initial Feasibility Study to the construction of several development projects along this two mile stretch of roadway, Knight Engineering has developed and supervised the construction of roadway improvements, intersection improvements, traffic signal upgrades, multi-use trail construction and pedestrian crossings. Although not currently being perused by the Township, Knight Engineering also designed with the Township’s Traffic Consultant a State of the Art Roundabout at the intersection of Cold Spring Creamery Road and Burnt House Hill Road.

Skyrun Drive Industrial Development Stormwater Management Retrofit

Originally constructed in the late 1970s, the Skyrun Drive Industrial Development was provided with ineffective stormwater management facilities that created flooding in downstream residential areas and did little to improve the quality of the stormwater runoff. As part of a regional Stormwater Management Drainage Study, Knight Engineering developed innovative and inexpensive retrofits to the existing stormwater management facilities that reduced flooding and improved the water quality in the watershed.
